Mr. J P Chowdhary aged about 72 years is an industrialist with 52 years experience in railways sector/heavy engineering industry.
A graduate in Commerce and Diploma holder in Business Management, Mr. Chowdhary is regarded as turnaround expert, taking over ailing Companies and turning around their operations with genuity and astuteness.
Mr. Chowdhary has been President of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and President of All India Organisation of Employers, Indian Chamber of Commerce, Kolkata, All India Management Association, New Delhi and also served as Sheriff of Kolkata in 1995. He is currently member of Central Board of Trustees, Employees Provident Fund Organisation and chairs the Board of Railway Board of Equipment Division of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). He has been reappointed as Executive Chairman of Titagarh Wagons Limited for a further term of five years w.e.f. 08.01.2012. He is also the Executive Chairman of Cimmco Ltd, group Company. Mr. J P Chowdhary was also the Honorary Consul of the Switzerland in Kolkata.
Mr. Umesh Chowdhary is the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Titagarh Wagons Limited, one of the leading wagon manufacturers in the country. Mr Chowdhary had joined Titagarh Steels Ltd as a Management Trainee in 1990 when he was only 16 years. His dynamism and sharp foresight not only contributed immensely to the growth of the revenues of the company but also to expand the company both in India and overseas.
Mr. Umesh Chowdhary is also the Honorary Consul of the Switzerland in Kolkata since January 1, 2011. Most recently he has been awarded the ‘Chevalier De l’Orde national du Merite’ by the French Government.
Mr. Chowdhary holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and has attended one module of the Owner/President Management Programme of Harvard Business School, Boston, USA.
Mr. Umesh Chowdhary is the Chairman of the West Bengal State Council – Confederation of Indian Industries, Eastern Region. He is also member of the Infrastructure Development Committee of the Bharat Chamber of Commerce and a special invitee in the Executive Committee of the Indian Chamber of Commerce.
He is an Economics (Hons.) graduate and an all India rank holder Chartered Accountant, having 26 years of experience in steel, engineering and tractor industry. He is currently working as Managing Director & CEO of TAPL. Before joining TAPL, he had worked in Sonalika Group as Executive Director & CEO. During his tenure, Sonalika tractors witnessed robust growth in sales in India & abroad and doubled its bottom line. He was instrumental in creating Brand ‘Sonalika’ culminating in raising substantial private equity for the group from Blackstone private equity.
Prior to Sonalika Group, he was President for Escorts US & Europe Business. He managed the US holding company & its acquisition of two subsidiaries, namely Farmtrac Inc, USA & Farmtrac Europe. He had overall responsibilities for the acquisitions including target search, business plan, internal approvals for strategic fit, negotiation with the shortlisted parties, share purchase agreements, statutory compliances, appointment of key agents & financial closures. Post acquisition responsibilities included evolving key business strategy and execution thereof in US & Europe including marketing & product strategy, organization structure, dealers network, financial plan and process/product improvement & alignment with the parent organization.
Pranab Ghosal has worked in large multinational and Indian companies in senior/middle management like Carraro India Ltd (Chief Operating Officer), Delphi (Chief Financial Officer) and Tata Steel.
He is Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering having 35 years of experience in field of modification and upgrading of vehicles. He is currently working as Head – Product Development of TAPL. He worked largely with Mahindra & Mahindra, HMT, Sonalika and Tata group.
He is a Techno-Commercial person, specialized in making product fitment as per customer requirement. He was handling various overseas assignments in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ukraine, Malaysia, Africa and Indonesia.
He holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is working as Head – Sales & Marketing of TAPL. He has worked with renowned companies like Eicher, Sonalika, Force Motor, Bajaj Tempo and General Motors. He has 25 years experience in Automobile / Tractor industry in sales/network expansion/dealer development / Marketing, after sales service and policy & procedure formation.
His expertise is in creating SOP’s for various marketing department in addition to the execution of such SOP’s. In his previous assignments, he has created SOP for CSI monitoring for Tractor and started the concept of dealer infrastructure audit for new and existing dealers for Tractor & Vehicle division. He is seasoned professional in handling internal and external customers. As far as channel development department is concerned, he is expert in evaluating the territory where dealer to be appointed based on competitor dealer, market potential and targeted market share, evaluating the dealer prospect on financial strength, market credibility, past experience, level of interest and many more parameters.
He is B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering having 15 year of experience. Currently he is working as Head– Vendor Development of TAPL. He largely worked with General Motor and Sonalika. He is seasoned professional in the field of vendor development, cost negotiation, new product development, product validation, creating large vendor base & cost effective quality component sourcing. He is a champion in working on cost reduction targets and material planning.
He is Diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering having more than 26 years experience in production, R&D, Tractor Testing, Manufacturing, after sales service and new plant set-up in Tractor industry.
He is working as Associate General Manager – Production & Store of TAPL. He has worked with major tractor manufacturing companies like Eicher and Force Motors. He is seasoned professional in assembly line set-up, testing equipment set-up, manufacturing process, managing manufacturing, quality control, CFMT&TI Budni testing.
He holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering and MBA. He is working as Manager – Strategy & Planning of TAPL. He was worked on Strategy & Planning with CEO & ED of Sonalika Group and has developed, implemented, monitored and reviewed all marketing strategies for the business. Akashdeep, has worked with external vendors and partners to align product, pricing and marketing strategies. Tracked market and competitors’ trends to keep abreast the changing client’s requirements and expectation. He has exposure of handling Private Equity stake sale in Sonalika group for Blackstone.
